Keynote Speakers:

 

Wednesday - Matthew CollierMatthew Collier

Matt Collier serves as a Senior Advisor to the Director at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management where he is responsible for developing a government-wide strategy for college recruiting and hiring and to elevate civil service.  Collier recently graduated with a MBA and a Certificate in Public Management from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. 

At Stanford, he served as co-president of Out4Biz, an organization that encourages the acceptance of all people, regardless of their background, beliefs, or sexual orientation.  In addition to unofficial study trips to India, Peru, and Europe, Collier also participated in and led official school visits to Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.  

Before going to business school, Collier served for a year at the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security as a Management Program Analyst, and completed several internships, including a Congressional internship and stints at the Dept. of Defense and the Boeing Company’s Integrated Defense Systems. 

Collier graduated in 2006 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, with a degree in Aerospace Engineering emphasizing on propulsion, a minor in mathematics, and a Commercial Pilot License.  At Embry-Riddle, he served for two years as the student body president and as a member of university’s board of trustees and faculty senate.

Thursday - Tom BaughanTom Baughan

Tom has been with Monster since 2008 as Director of Civilian Agencies.  Prior to joining Monster, he gained valuable experience as a Director with Northrop Grumman, Xerox, and MBI which exposed him to most of the trials and tribulations of the hiring process fueling his empathy for the Civilian Agencies.  At Monster, Tom is responsible for leading a team of professionals that help Civilian Agencies find, track, assess, select candidates, and on-board them as new hires. 

A graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Industrial Education, Tom has twenty-five years within the Beltway working with Federal agencies and contractors making him the perfect person to discuss solutions for recruiting, staffing and hiring today’s government employees. 

Tom’s family of six includes a Black Knight, a Hokie, three Rams, a Sea Gull, and a Terp.
